goal

solution

Using the Japanese concept of `ma´ to work with empty space.

Plywood Sheet

100%

milled Amumilum

Design Principle:

'ma' is a concept from Japanese culture is the key design principle that influences this object's creation.

In essence, ma emphasizes the significance of what is not there, recognizing that empty spaces, pauses, and silence are just as crucial as what is present.

In the design of this object, I've embraced the idea of 'ma' by paying special attention to the spaces in and around it. This design approach not only adds a sense of harmony but also invites you to appreciate what's not immediately visible, allowing for a deeper connection with the piece.
